****NEWS: as of June 18, 2014 ruling: City Council bans alcohol bottles and cans at Fremont Street Experience. Drinking alcohol from bottles or cans outside in the downtown casino district, a practice that has been allowed for years, could now bring a fine of up to $500 ($250 for 1st. offense), under a measure passed today by the Las Vegas City Council. Drinking out of plastic container O.K. By unanimous vote, the council voted to ban the consumption of alcoholic beverages from the original containers — glass, aluminum and plastic cans or bottles — in the five-block area of the Fremont Street Experience.

VooDoo Zip Line at Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino is now open to the general public. Created by New Capital Ventures, VooDoo Zip Line accommodates two riders at once and connects the two towers of the Rio Las Vegas. The attraction begins on the patio of VooDoo Steakhouse, located on the 50th floor of the Masquerade Tower, and propels riders at speeds up to 33 miles per hour to the adjoining 20-story Ipanema Tower.
